THE MARKS OF MEMORY AND IDENTITY IN THE JEWISH IMMIGRATION IN THE AMAZON REGION LITERATURE AND HISTORY

This work aims to analyze the works Barracão (1959) and Uma Grande Mancha de Sol (1951), both from the initial phase of the production of the author from Pará, Sultana Levy Rosenblatt, focusing on the construction of memory and identity marks in the Jewish immigration processes in the Amazon region. The research starts from the hypothesis that the joint reading of the two works opens up possibilities for understanding not only the literature produced by the Author, but also her contribution to Amazonian history, by reassembling spaces and customs in the north of the country, at a time when little was said about this region. The process of remembrance and writing also serves to present the characteristics, language and spaces present between the 1930s and 1940s, in addition, we propose a discussion about Judaism and its immigration process to the northern region, analyzing how this population was received and how it develops its life stories from this new scenario. To this end, an interdisciplinary dialogue was carried out between the novels and historical records. This research resorted to critical studies of theorists of history such as Pesavento (2013); Chartier (2009); Benchimol (2008), Tocantins (1976), and, for the analysis of the works, we used literary criticism with Cândido (2006); Ricouer (2007) and Sarlo (2007) among others.
