SUMMARY:

During the Military Regime, especially from the 1970s onwards, indigenous peoples, especially those from the Amazon, faced several complications perpetrated outside of legality, such as land invasions, land grabbing, expulsions and massacres, the consequences of which persist to this day. During that same decade, the attitudes and actions of the Apurinã people stood out socially, as they became protagonists in the fight for rights, especially in the conquest of their lands. From this perspective, the research analyzes the conflicts and resistance of the Apurinã in the process of demarcating the indigenous lands of Km 45, Km 124 and Camicuã in Boca do Acre, Amazonas, in the period from 1978 to 1990. To meet this demand, methodologically , a bibliographical review of academic productions on the Apurinã is carried out. Furthermore, the Apurinã's confrontation with land grabbing and the authoritarian practices of land grabbers, farmers and politicians is addressed. Finally, the processes of territorial demarcation of the Apurinã in Boca do Acre are mapped, providing a more in-depth understanding of the challenges and achievements of this indigenous group throughout this period. In order to achieve these objectives, a qualitative approach is proposed that uses a wide range of sources to provide a deeper understanding of the phenomenon analyzed. Sources include documents produced by government agencies, such as FUNAI, AJACRE and INCRA, as well as records from non-governmental agencies, such as data from CIMI (reports and periodicals), and information from alternative regional and national newspapers. This study also proposes the application of Content Analysis to treat the information contained in the sources used. Thus, through this research, we aim to highlight the leading role of the Apurinã in the process of demarcating their lands. Furthermore, it is believed that the results obtained may demonstrate the presence of the authoritarian apparatus of the military regime, as well as the actions of opponents of the Apurinã cause, who used political powers to perpetrate illegal acts, such as the invasion of indigenous lands.
