SUMMARY:

During the Military Regime, especially from the 1970s onward, indigenous peoples, particularly those from the Amazon, faced numerous illegal complications, such as land invasions, land grabbing, expulsions, and massacres, the consequences of which persist to this day. During this same decade, the actions and attitudes of the Apurinã stood out socially, as they became protagonists in the fight for rights, especially in securing their lands. From this perspective, the research analyzes the conflicts and resistances of the Apurinã in the process of demarcating the indigenous lands of Km 45, Km 124, and Camicuã in Boca do Acre, Amazonas, from 1978 to 1990. To meet this demand, a bibliographic review of academic productions about the Apurinã is conducted. In addition, the Apurinã's confrontation against land grabbing and the authoritarian practices of land grabbers, farmers, and politicians is addressed. Finally, a mapping of the territorial demarcation processes of the Apurinã in Boca do Acre is carried out, providing a deeper understanding of the challenges and achievements of this indigenous group during this period. To achieve these objectives, a qualitative approach is proposed, utilizing a wide range of sources to provide a deeper understanding of the phenomenon analyzed. The sources include documents produced by governmental agencies such as FUNAI, AJACRE, and INCRA, as well as records from non-governmental agencies, such as CIMI data (reports and periodicals), and information from regional and national alternative newspapers. This study also proposes the application of Content Analysis for handling the information contained in the sources used. Thus, through this research, it is aimed to highlight the protagonism of the Apurinã in the process of demarcating their lands. Additionally, it is believed that the results obtained may highlight the presence of the authoritarian apparatus of the military regime, as well as the actions of the opponents of the Apurinã cause, who used political power to perpetrate illegal acts, such as the invasion of indigenous lands.
