SOCIOECONOMIC FORMATION OF THE STATE OF RONDÔNIA SINCE 1970 TO 2020

This work seeks, through the study of economic history, to understand how the socioeconomic formation of the state of Rondônia took place and, from this, to analyze the indices of economic growth and development. The general objective is to describe the historical process, from the economic point of view, of the state of Rondônia, in order to compare the historical indices of economic growth and development. The research carried out is based on qualitative-quantitative. Bibliographic research was used to investigate the structure and socioeconomic formation of the state of Rondônia, using qualitative research as a technical procedure, as well as the forms and methods of data evaluation. Regarding the procedures, the historical, comparative, statistical, qualitative and quantitative methods were used. Data on GDP, GDP per capita, GINI, HDI, infant mortality, and life expectancy at birth were analyzed. The results indicate a significant advance in the indicators that measure economic growth and development in Rondônia. The State was successful in its economic projects for the region. The indices show that Rondônia is advancing in income production and economic development; With each passing year, it presents evolution in the indices that measure the well-being of its population. We conclude that the economic growth fostered in the state of Rondônia was able to generate economic development and well-being for the population. However, improvements are still needed to mitigate the environmental degradation and poverty that persist.
