SUMMARY:

This study aims to discuss innovative methodological proposals for teaching the history of Rondonia, using the Technical Reserve of Archaeology of the Federal University of Rondonia (UNIR) as its basis. The COVID-19 pandemic imposed significant challenges on teachers, who had to reinvent their teaching and learning strategies remotely, incorporating tools such as gamification on digital platforms. However, it is essential to recognize that the teaching of history in Brazil is still marked by a Eurocentric perspective, which places Europe at the center of knowledge. This approach is particularly problematic when it comes to teaching the history of Rondonia, where archaeology and ancient history are essential for understanding the region's identity. In Rondonia, we still see didactic materials used in public schools perpetuating this Eurocentric discourse. It is understood that the teaching of history is an area of research in constant construction by historians and public school teachers. Moreover, in this area, there is gamification as a methodological form of educational innovation, using methods that activate the competitive mode, teaching-learning, historical awareness, and critical thinking of students in the classroom. Given this scenario, fundamental questions arise: Is it possible to use gamification in dialogue with the decolonial historiographic debate as a learning strategy in history teaching? Can the incorporation of games make the archaeological collection of UNIR more accessible and attractive to students? Is it possible to rethink the most remote past of the Amazon as historical learning in public basic education, based on the sources of the archaeological collection? With the objective of answering these questions, this study aims to create an interactive game based on the collection of the Technical Reserve of Archaeology of UNIR, aimed at public schools in Porto Velho. In addition, it seeks to stimulate the historical awareness of the student as a subject of history, using gamification, curiosity, and critical thinking for citizenship in the social school space. The methodology used will be a mixed approach, qualitative and quantitative, and bibliographic, incorporating data from the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), the Curricular Reference of the State of Rondonia (RCRO), objects from the Technical Reserve of Archaeology of UNIR, and productions of materials and diversified works. Finally, this study highlights the importance of continuing to explore new teaching and learning strategies that can help make the teaching of the history of Rondonia more attractive to students.
