SUMMARY:

This research was developed within the scope of the Graduate Program in Inclusive Education (PROFEI) at the Federal University of Rondônia (UNIR), as part of Research Line III: Formative Practices and Processes of Educators for Inclusive Education. The study sought to understand the use of photographic records in educational processes, pedagogical documentation, and learning assessment of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), focusing on the practice of Early Childhood Education teachers. The general objective was to analyze and understand how photographic records can be used as a pedagogical documentation tool in the teaching and assessment processes of students with ASD in Early Childhood Education. Among the specific objectives, the development of an e-book stands out, aimed at structuring the Early Childhood Education portfolio through photographic records, considering the specificities of children with ASD. The methodology adopted followed a qualitative approach of an applied nature, with data collection carried out through the analysis of the municipality's curriculum and assessment system, a diagnostic questionnaire with open-ended and closed-ended questions, and, mainly, a focus group with formative meetings and a reflective session. For data treatment, the Content Analysis technique proposed by Bardin (2016) was used. The results demonstrated that photographic records are powerful instruments of pedagogical documentation in the teachers' practice within the research context, favoring close listening to learning processes and making the development of children with ASD visible. Furthermore, it evidenced the need to adapt the Special Education assessment focused on Early Childhood Education in the municipality that served as the research locus, especially regarding the portfolio criteria, pointing to the need for a reformulation that better meets the specificities of children with disabilities at this stage. It also identified a lack of specific continuing education, both for Early Childhood Education and for working with children with ASD, which directly impacts the quality of inclusive practices in the municipality of Ji-Paraná. It is concluded that photography, when used intentionally and reflectively by the teacher, constitutes a powerful tool for building an inclusive pedagogical documentation, contributing to making the learning and development process of children with ASD visible. Likewise, the developed e-book configures a relevant support resource for teacher education and practice in Early Childhood Education.
