SUMMARY:

In view of the concerns that emerge in order to understand the process of teaching and learning of statistics in the context of the discipline of mathematics in basic education, the following question was considered for the present research: What way the teaching and learning of Statistics takes place within the documents curricula, as well as in mathematics textbooks with regard to Teaching Average? In order to answer the proposed question, the general objective was defined to investigate the teaching and learning of Statistics in High School foreseen in the curriculum documents, as well as in mathematics textbooks in four public school in the city of Ji-Paraná-RO. In this sense, it was decided to develop a research with a qualitative approach in the documentary perspective. For this, theoretical authors such as: Gil (2008); Ludke (1986), Minyo (2001). The informations were organized in stages: describe the way in which literacy has been occurring statistics in the context of teaching and learning mathematics in high school, the authors who contributed to the development of the research were: Lopes (2010); Coutinho (2013, 2019) and Samá (2019); identify how the teaching of statistics in official documents and textbooks regarding the teaching of mathematics in high school in public school institutions in Rondônia; so, was anchored in the records of PCNs (1997, 1998, 2000, 2002), OCEM(2006), BNCC (2018) and RCRO (2021) verify the relationship between knowledge objects mathematicians who refer to the teaching of statistics present in textbooks adopted by schools in the state education network in the municipality of Ji-paraná in to the detriment of that provided for in the curriculum documents of the State of Rondônia. Of this In this way, it is expected that the reflections and notes during the process of development of the steps proposed for this research provide new knowledge and possibilities regarding the teaching of statistics in teaching basic education, especially in high school, in which the referred object of knowledge (Statistics) is little explored.
