SUMMARY:

This is a study that was mobilized by the concern to understand the absence of women in the production of knowledge. Throughout the history of science, society has significantly erased the presence of women in scientific records. This absence not only indicates the lack of female participation in science, but reveals a purposeful invisibilization. The scientific community is already on a path to reverse this reality, although it still has a long way to go. The research Mathematics Education and Gender: perspectives of girls from the early years of Elementary School Jandinei Cella de Ji-Parana - RO has as central objective to investigate the conceptions of gender in the teaching of mathematics from the perspectives of girls enrolled in the early years of elementary school mentioned above which was divided into three specific objectives a) Identify the perspectives of students in relation to the teaching of mathematics; ) List gender perceptions, possible stereotypes and barriers that affect the participation of students in the discipline; c) analyze the pedagogical practices adopted in the early years of elementary school in the classes of the study participants. In relation to the methodology, the screen research is characterized by qualitative bias, in interface with narrative research as a relevant methodological strategy with the objective of deepening the understanding of the trajectories of girls and women the research with children, as well as the technique of data extraction through focus groups with moments of dialogue to identify common and divergent experiences or themes in the stories of the girls participating in the study. The readings and documentary data analyzed indicate that there is little or no female representation in the area, social pressures and the perpetuation of stereotypes related to mathematics negatively affect the confidence and engagement of students. However, inclusive pedagogical practices, which encourage the active participation of students and value their potential, contribute to promoting gender equity and overcoming such barriers. The expectation is that the study can provide elements for construction of egalitarian and inclusive public policies in the field of school education.
