Autism Spectrum Disorder and Cerebral Palsy; Inclusive Education; Special Education; Human Right
In Brazil, although people with disabilities have the same rights and are subject to the same laws among citizens, such as being included in Regular Education, the literature on Special Education highlights the difficulty of implementing this legislation, with considerable distance between Pedagogical theories and practices. However, the school constitutes a social space that provides opportunities for the construction of sociocultural identity and the full formation of citizens through interactions between people, and the specialized literature already points out suggestions of practices based on effective evidence in the teaching of children with disabilities. Among the deficiencies included in the legislation that protects the right to Inclusive Special Education, the following stand out: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), whose main characteristics are deficits in verbal and non-verbal communication, socioemotional reciprocity and development; and Cerebral Palsy (CP), characterized by permanent neurological alterations that affect motor and cognitive development, involving movement and body posture. There are still few studies on pedagogical activities to be carried out with children with ASD and CP when included in classrooms, innovative practices are used and how the teacher-student relationship works for the realization of Inclusive Education, with the goal of development full of students with disabilities. In view of the specifics of the behavior of children with ASD and CP, and the impacts that the lack of adequate teacher training can cause in the interactions with these children in the classroom, the objective of the present research is to identify the educational plans, methodologies and strategies prepared by the Municipal Education Department (SEMED) in the municipality of Jaru, state of Rondônia, in the identification of the population of students from 4 (four) to 12 years of age with ASD and with CP, regularly enrolled from 1st to 6th grades, aiming at their inclusion in two public schools in the elementary school in the municipality of Jaru; as well as verifying and intervening in the physical environment of the school to adapt it to the needs of these students. The methodology employs a qualitative and quantitative approach, guided by systematic observation with a structured script, record in files and reports in field diaries for further analysis of the data obtained. Among the procedures, there are six sessions of observation of the interaction of each of the teachers with the children with ASD and CP, with an average duration of 40 minutes each session, analyzed by the response rate of practices used and description of a typical day of teacher-student interaction with TEA and PC. Regarding the adaptation of the physical environment, it is intended to establish partnerships with the municipal government so that the needs of this target audience are met. As a product of this research, a study and a bill were prepared, in partnership with SEMED de Jaru, aiming at the organization and hiring of a multidisciplinary team that provides specialized care to students with disabilities according to their particular needs.
