SUMMARY:

The objective of this research is to analyze and reflect on the silencing process of traditional communities caused by the lack of access to justice. Taking into account the context of violence in the countryside experienced and observed throughout the territory of the State of Rondônia, the aim was to understand how the process of violence experienced by traditional communities unfolds or should unfold, how these leaders seek support from the state, seeking access to justice to resolve their issues of violence and conflicts. In order to come to some understandings, interviews were conducted with 5 leaders of traditional communities in the State of Rondônia, alongside observations and bibliographic research. The results presented currently indicate that these small communities are still at the mercy of their own destiny when it comes to access to justice; some are not even able to clarify the meaning of the term access to justice, or do not know where to look for it. The process of silencing can manifest in the invisibility of their struggles for survival, as many of their "problems" are fueled by experiences of extreme violence and remain unknown or unnoticed due to the absence of state and justice presence.
