Aedes aegypti is a vector of great importance for Public Health. In view of the emergence of resistance to some insecticides, alternative control methods, including toxic sugar bait (TSB) have been used and have been successful for vector control. This tool aims to use sugar to orally deliver insecticides to mosquitoes. From this perspective, Ivermectin (IVM), an endectocidal drug, has also been evaluated as a toxic ingredient for TSB. To better make the TSB bait available, different devices were developed for its application, for example, Bait Stations (EI). Although TSB and EI have the potential to be used together, to date there are no field studies related to these methodologies in Brazil. Therefore, the objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of using EIs with IVM TSB against Ae. aegypti on the José Ribeiro Filho campus of the Federal University of Rondônia. A black organizing box (52x34x29) with an opening in the lid (Resting Box) was used as EI, which was adapted from a previous study by the research group (unpublished data). Inside the EI, TSB was sprayed. To prepare the TSB, 10% sucrose was used (sugar + aqueous solution with 500ppm IVM). The study was carried out between October 2022 and June 2023 and began with monitoring Ae. aegypti for evaluation of the Egg Density Index (IDO) and the Ovitrap Positivity Index (IPO). To this end, ovitraps were installed at 17 points on the UNIR Campus. Using these data, two monitoring points (13 and 7) with high IDO and IPO were chosen for the installation of 5 EIs impregnated with TSB (intervention). Dead EI mosquitoes were removed every 5 days and were subsequently sent to LaBEIn for observation of TSB ingestion and identification. From the results obtained, it was investigated that from October 2022 to October 2023 the IPO at point 13 was greater than 80% and in the period from May to June the IPO was greater than 60%. In relation to the IDO, there was a reduction from 80 to 20 eggs between the periods from October 2022 to July 2023. It was observed that, at the point where the intervention was carried out, there was a reduction of 100 eggs in relation to the same point during the previous period the installation of EI (monitoring). Point 7 presented the largest IPO throughout the collections, reaching 100%. There was also a variation in the IDO from at least 129 eggs to 18. The use of EIs sprayed with TSB IVM at the point of intervention the IDO of Ae. aegypti.
