The ecology of communities related to lepidoptera assemblies has received greater attention in recent years from entomologists and ecologists. Because they are good models of study, they are holometábolos insects where the adults forage nectar of the reproductive structures of the plants while in the immature stage, the caterpillars are herbivorous and as a rule they develop in specific habitats, what makes them more sensitive to the factors biotic and abiotic. The ecological standards of organisms are essential information for decision making on conservation policies and the use and management of natural areas. The present study was conducted at ESEC Cuniã, using a standard PPBIO research grid, following the RAPELD methodology. Two collections, in the periods of high waters and low waters, were carried out in the 30 plots of terra firme, where three traps were used, model VSR baited. Sampling recorded for nectarivorous butterflies, a total of 179 individuals, distributed in 3 families, where the genus Adelpha was the most representative with 97.77% of the wealth. For moths a total of 356 individuals, distributed in 18 families, were registered, the Hemeroblemma genus being the most representative with 71.22% of the richness. Fourteen environmental variables were tested on the two assemblies with the intention of defining the influence of these predictors on the assemblages of nectarivorous butterflies and moths, in order to use the results in methodologies of management and conservation of areas similar to Cuniã Ecological Station. In the results of the analyzes, it was observed that each group behaved exclusively. Regarding the assembly of nectarivorous butterflies, the most significant variables were sand and clay contents in the soil and the straight and vertical distances of the water drains. In the analyzes of the data referring to moths, we see that the main predictors were the altitude, the number of palms and litter in the soil and the straight distance of the water drain. The results indicate that assemblages of butterflies nectarivores are strongly influenced by the availability of water and humidity of the place, as the moth assemblages have shown to be more sensitive to the disposition of energy resources as the availability of food mainly in the phases of caterpillar. Corroborating that found in other studies that show that environmental variations promote changes in the richness and abundance of these lepidoptera. Thus, it is concluded that the edaphic predictors are determining factors in the assemblages of these Lepidoptera, being used to stipulate parameters that indicate the environmental conditions of a certain ecosystem. Since it is the zero mark in this region, in relation to information from these organisms, this study becomes the first reference. And from this information, it will be possible to develop monitoring programs for data collection that will be paramount in decision making for conservation of the units and management of populations and habitats that are located in their environment
