Spatial Analysis of Social Vulnerability and its Correlation with the Supply of Public Facilities in Porto Velho - RO: A Geostatistical Approach to Regional Development.
Urban Planning; Social Vulnerability; Amazonian Cities; Porto Velho; Regional Development.
The accelerated and disordered urbanization of Amazonian cities, such as Porto Velho, has intensified processes of unequal spatial production, deepening socio-spatial inequalities, compromising environmental sustainability, and overburdening urban infrastructure. In this context, the present study aims to analyze the distribution of public community facilities for health, education, and leisure within the urban perimeter of the municipality of Porto Velho, correlating them with levels of socio-spatial vulnerability, in order to support urban planning strategies aimed at regional development. To this end, geoprocessing and spatial analysis techniques will be employed, which will make it possible to identify coverage gaps and underserved territories, as well as highlight spatial patterns and relationships between socioeconomic and territorial variables. The research proposes an integrated approach to the territory, based on georeferenced data and empirical evidence, contributing to the understanding of the dynamics of socio-spatial segregation and unequal access to urban services. The expected results include the improvement of territorial analysis tools applied to public management, support for evidence-based decision-making, and the proposal of guidelines for the more equitable allocation of urban infrastructure. Furthermore, the study aims to contribute to the strengthening of more efficient and territorially oriented urban planning practices, with the potential for replicability in other Amazonian municipalities. Thus, the study contributes to the construction of more inclusive and resilient cities aligned with the guidelines of the Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDGs 10 and 11, reaffirming the importance of territorialized and intersectoral approaches in addressing regional inequalities.
