SUMMARY:

This thesis analyzes the productive, economic, and social performance of family farming in the state of Rondônia, Brazil, from 2020 to 2024, based on institutional data from EMATER-RO obtained through the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Information System (SIGATER). The objective is to evaluate how technical assistance, territorial structure, productive diversification, and sociodemographic factors influence the performance of Family Production Units (FPUs), as well as to validate an analytical model based on indicators for
monitoring rural development. The research adopts a quantitative, descriptive, and applied approach, using data engineering techniques, unit standardization, and multivariate analysis. The analytical framework is structured around ten Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), grouped into three dimensions: productive, economic, and social/resilience. As a methodological contribution, the Family Farming Development Index (IDAF) is proposed, integrating these dimensions into a synthetic metric for territorial comparison. The results indicate an increase in
weighted average productivity, growth in revenue and profitability, and the maintenance of high levels of productive diversification. Regions with stronger presence of technical assistance, better logistical access, and higher levels of productive organization show superior performance. Conversely, the reduction in the number of extension agents is associated with decreased service coverage, indicating limitations in the operational capacity of public policy. The integrated analysis confirms that the performance of family farming is conditioned by the
interaction between continuous technical assistance, productive diversification, market access, human capital, and institutional density. It is concluded that the proposed model, based on KPIs and the IDAF, constitutes a practical tool for public management, enabling the monitoring of territorial inequalities and supporting rural development policies, reinforcing the need to strengthen technical assistance and its integration with markets and innovation..
