Technological properties of Amazon Rainforest wood subjected to different periods of exposure to working temperatures

The Amazon Rainforest, essential for environmental balance, faces significant challenges due to logging. Native wood, widely used in construction, is recognized for its quality, making it essential that its harvesting follows sustainable practices. This study analyzes the technological properties of two Amazonian species, Roxinho (Peltogyne sp) and Cumaru (Dipteryx odorata), at different exposure times to working temperatures, considering their applications in wooden structures. The research is based on the ABNT NBR 7190-1:2022 standard, which regulates the sizing of structural elements and tests to estimate the physical and mechanical properties of wood. The results aim to optimize the use of wood in civil engineering by evaluating strength, density, and mechanical performance, contributing to technical guidelines and promoting responsible practices for the sustainable use of wood.
