RESUMO:

The State of Rondonia is the largest deforestation in the northern region in 2017, with the increase of 1,252 square kilometers of cut forests, contributing to the deforestation of the Amazon Forest, one of the largest tropical forests in the world. Among the causes of deforestation is the conversion of land use to agriculture and / or pasture, economic activities that would be less productive than maintaining the forest with its respective services and environmental goods. A more viable economic alternative for the region could be the practice of forest-based economics, based on extractivism and planted forests, in order to achieve results that go beyond the economic, contributing to the generation of jobs and income, as well as guaranteeing environmental functions, which would also cooperate positively to adapt the microclimate and mitigate climate change. There are several paths that can be used, one of them is the use of economic tools such as multisectoral analysis, which allows the identification of the key sectors of an economy. The state of Rondonia still has a deficiency in the use of this type of tool since no official publications were found in this regard. Thus, this work sought to carry out a multisectoral analysis of the Rondonia’s economy. For this, the theory of the Input-Output Matrix was used for the 2015 economic structure, built for Rondonia using specific technique. Then, the analysis of multipliers and forward and backward linkages was carried out. It is believed that the analysis carried out may assist in making economic decisions contributing to better economic planning for the State. The impact multipliers indicate that the transformation sector shows a high relationship with the other sectors and the forward and backward linkages show that the sector with the greatest dependence on other sectors is the Extractive Industries, while the most demanded is the Transformation Industry. The Forest Production sector; fisheries and aquaculture have a low production multiplier and low linkage index, however, it is possible to add value through the transformation sector. Thus, it is possible to develop policies that stimulate the transformation sector, supported by the growth of production in the forestry sector, in line with the most relevant ideas of sustainable development.
