The resistance to insecticides, commonly used in the control of vectors demands the discovery of new molecules for the chemical control of the vectors Aedes aegypti and Anopheles darlingi. The use of plant in the control of vectors has become an alternative way to obtain compounds with larvicidal activity. In the search for new molecular alternatives, this work aimed to evaluate the larvicidal potential of the extracts of Bertholletia excelsa (EtOH), Protium calendulinum leaf and stem (EtOH, hexane, EtOAc, acetone), Vismia guianensis (EtOH, leaf) and Cipura paludosa (EtOH, bulbs) against the vectors Aedes aegypti and Anopheles darlingi, where larval lethality was observed up to 96 h. For P. calendulinum the best results for A. aegypti were 96.66% for the ethanolic extract at the highest concentration (1000 ppm). The other plants presented low activity in the A. aegypti bioassay, with the exception of the hexane extract of P. calendulinum (stem) that presenting 100% larval mortality. For the A. darlingi bioassay, all the plants showed activity against the vector, especially in the highest concentrations, with larval mortality in the range of 100 to 76%. P. calendulinum (stem) revealed efficient against A. aegypti, with LC50 of 492,344 ppm and CL90 of 630,137 ppm; however, the other extracts presented LC50 and LC90 above 1000 ppm. For A. darlingi, the lowest LC50 and CL90 values were 410.04 ppm and 658.40 ppm, respectively, for the EtOH extract of the B. excelsa barks, which is a promising result, since is an Amazon plant used abundantly. This work has proved to be promising about the bioassays performed, opening the way for new studies with the plants analyzed.
