RESUMO:

This work aimed to analyze the sanitation conditions related to the supply of water and sewage in the state of Rondônia based on indicators from the National Sanitation Information System (SNIS), relying on data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), Department of SUS Informatics (DataSUS), Trat Brazil Institute and also the National Health Foundation (FUNASA), and using the PEIR methodology - Pressure, State, Impact, Response - and the classification based on scientific literature as the basis for discussing the data obtained.For a better understanding, the research has a structure of four chapters, the first being the presentation of the theme, the second chapter is a reflection on the relationship between sanitation and development, addressing the concepts of development according to scholars of the theme, aiming at a constructive approach to the concept of sustainable development and its importance in the context of public policies, as well as the importance of sanitation and public policies aimed at this axis of sustainable development. The third chapter is a review of water supply and sanitary sewage systems in the Amazon and Brazil.The fourth chapter presents the results obtained and their analysis in the context of the current sanitation laws, presenting the data available in the banks of the appropriate agencies, and also the lack of a database with regard to rural areas, as well as suggestions using the PEIR methodology
