here are studies that demonstrate the ineffectiveness of the Environmental Impact Studies (EIA) in relation to the impacts caused by the Madeira Complex works, and that the environmental licenses are carried out without the proper participation of the affected communities, which resulted in several demands for Civil Actions Public, leading to the appreciation of the judiciary. Thus, using the methodological techniques of Discourse Analysis, together with the traditional communities that suffered impacts with the implantation of the plants on the Madeira River, specifically in Santo Antônio and Jirau, reflecting on the profile of decent work in this region, considering work as one of the main links between economic and social development. This is a research of a basic nature, also having an exploratory and descriptive character, as it allows familiarity between the researcher and the researched topic. With these considerations, the hypothesis is defended that decent work has different meanings when analyzing the institutional memory, confronting it with the meaning for the traditional riverside communities, and thus proving that the profile of decent work in Porto Velho/Rodônia differs. of the profile of traditional and riverside communities impacted by the construction of HPPs on the Madeira River.
