ANALYSIS OF LEGISLATION FOR THE USE OF NATIVE WOOD FROM THE FOREST AMAZON AND ITS IMPACT ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

This research addresses the analysis of legislation for the sustainable use of wood and its impact
on sustainable development, from the perspective of Amartya Sen. Exploring the complexity
of this topic, the study highlights the need to harmonize the economic, environmental and social
interests involved in Forest exploration. Challenges such as a lack of effective oversight,
conflicts of interest and political and economic pressures are identified, requiring innovative
and collaborative approaches. Sen's perspective emphasizes the importance of ensuring basic
freedoms and meaningful opportunities for all people, taking into account not only the
immediate impacts of forestry policies, but also their long-term consequences on the
environment and society. In view of this, it is proposed to strengthen the participation and
empowerment of local communities, the development of sustainable economic alternatives and
the integration of policies that consider the interests of everyone involved. By adopting a
collaborative and inclusive approach, it is possible to promote a more balanced and responsible
management of forest resources, contributing to sustainable development and the well-being of
present and future generations.
