Urbanization, Territorial Formation, Migration, Urban Infrastructure, Ariquemes.
The present study aims to understand the territorial formation of the city of Ariquemes over time, analyzing its urbanization process and the impacts on urban infrastructure due to migration encouraged by public authorities from 1970 to the present day. The strategies for territorial growth stand out, focusing on population growth and urban space. Investigates the formation of Ariquemes, identifying factors behind its emergence, analyzing its structural formation and studying the urban space to understand the impacts on infrastructure. The study is exploratory, qualitative-descriptive, based on a case study. A qualitative-descriptive approach was used, employing an empirical-analytical survey. Data were collected through bibliographic analysis, photographic records, visits to museums and image banks of the researched locations. This data consolidated the research and developed it to create a visual catalog of critical points in the city. The partial results indicate that the formation of Ariquemes is intrinsically linked to migratory cycles and incentive projects in the Amazon region. Territorial and demographic growth was influenced by the Bom Futuro mine. The city has become a regional hub, meeting the diverse needs of the population and neighboring municipalities. The analysis of urbanization in Amazonian states reveals two distinct phases, the second being driven by mineral exploration and large projects after the 1960s. Ariquemes emerged as a result of migratory cycles and incentives for settlement in the region. The city faces challenges arising from growth, highlighting the importance of planning to mitigate impacts on urban infrastructure. The population expresses developed perspectives for the city's future economic and urban growth.
