SUMMARY:

This study aims to analyze the spatial distribution of coffee cultivation in the state of Rondônia, Brazil, between 2003 and 2025. The research will present the task of elucidating the importance of coffee's representativeness in the state of Rondônia from a cultural and economic perspective. Given that this perennial crop has been present throughout the various migratory processes that occurred in Rondônia, it has sought over time to consolidate itself as one of the main economic activities on a regional and national scale. To this end, the following steps were carried out: Identify and map the already consolidated coffee production areas in the state of Rondônia; verify and analyze the patterns and trends of new coffee production area implementations; and evaluate the economic potential of coffee cultivation in Rondônia's economy. To achieve the research objectives, remote sensing products such as SENTINEL-2 and CBERS 4A satellite images will be used. The free software QGIS, version 3.26, will be employed for the integration and analysis of spatial data. The results will allow for an understanding of the dynamics of coffee production in the state of Rondônia, considering the view and understanding of the economic development of the studied area based on its historical process. Thus, with the use of time-series satellite images, fieldwork, and scientific knowledge, the study will seek to demonstrate how the evolution and movement of coffee planting in the state of Rondônia have occurred over the years, observing which micro-regions produce the most, as well as, through data collection, determining its contributions to the domestic market.
