This research aims to analyze the occurrence of the Urban Heat Island (UHI) in Porto Velho - RO, based on the relationship between seasonal, diurnal, and nocturnal thermo-hygrometric variability and Local Climatic Zones (LCZs) as a subsidy to the understanding of the thermal comfort of local residents. For this, an inductive-experimental approach was used, based on primary and secondary data. The LCZs were identified and classified based on the World Urban Database and Access Portal Tools (WUDAPT) protocol, using multispectral images from Landsat 8 and 9 satellites, processed through the SAGA GIS 7.6.4 software. Field data collection was performed with meteorological sensors and installed at two fixed points in representative LCZs, during different seasonal periods, allowing to record variations in air temperature and relative humidity. The data obtained were compared with thermal images, enabling the identification of the intensity and spatial distribution of the UHIs. As a result, it is expected to understand how the configuration of land use and land cover influences the formation of different urban microclimates and contributes to thermal discomfort in densely occupied areas. The research contributes to the advancement of urban climatology studies in the Amazon, providing subsidies for sustainable urban planning, with a focus on mitigating the thermal effects associated with disorderly urban expansion.
