SUMMARY:

The covid-19 pandemic caused by the new coronavirus generated a series of changes in people's daily lives, due to the risk of contamination, in this context of contagion, isolation rules were decreed by the government. In view of this, society had to adapt to the new health requirements to prevent the spread of the virus. As for the education sector, decrees were published with the suspension of face-to-face classes for an indefinite period and to continue the school year, the Ministry of Education adopted Emergency Remote Teaching in public and private education institutions of Basic and Higher Education. In this new teaching modality, students and teachers needed to have equipment such as computers, portable telephones and internet access to carry out the remote class. In view of the above, the present study aims to evaluate the socioeconomic profile, condition of access to classes and evaluation of students from Elementary and High School of emergency Remote Education, in addition to the socioeconomic profile, strategies and teaching tools adopted by teachers during Remote Teaching Emergency in six schools in the Zona da Mata region of Rondônia in the context of a pandemic. The study was carried out from May to July 2022 and data collection was carried out through the application of a questionnaire to teachers and students with open and closed questions. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. A total of 120 elementary and high school students and 11 teachers from the area of Natural Sciences of Basic Education participated in this research. The remote classes of the municipal education network took place through printed activities and in the schools of the state network they took place through digital platforms via google meet and the classrroom platform, and all students had smartphone-model electronic devices to follow synchronous classes. Students from municipal schools rated remote classes as regular, while students from state schools rated them as bad. Teachers of the municipal network used as a teaching strategy, the use of printed activities, students sometimes performed the activities in which they were distributed. Teachers from the state network used google meet as a teaching tool to carry out their classes, students sometimes attended classes and sometimes carried out the proposed activities. It can be concluded that classes during the pandemic period were different in schools in the municipality and state, mainly due to students' internet access.
