SUMMARY:

Astronomy is an important field of scientific knowledge, contributing to the understanding of natural phenomena and to the development of students' scientific literacy. Despite its relevance in the Basic Education curriculum, research indicates that many students experience difficulties in understanding concepts related to the Solar System, often associated with the predominance of teaching approaches centered on content memorization. In this context, this study aims to analyze the contributions of an Inquiry-Based Teaching Sequence on the Solar System to the learning of astronomical concepts by Basic Education students. The investigation is guided by the following research question: How can an inquiry-based teaching sequence on the Solar System contribute to the learning of astronomical concepts by Basic Education students? Based on this research problem, the study seeks to examine the contributions of an Inquiry-Based Teaching Sequence (IBTS) on the Solar System to the learning of astronomical concepts by students in Basic Education. For the development of the Educational Product, a mini-planetarium model will be used as part of the Inquiry-Based Teaching Sequence to support inquiry-based learning. It is expected that this proposal will contribute to the learning of astronomical concepts, the development of students' inquiry skills, and the strengthening of pedagogical practices aimed at Astronomy education in Basic Education.
